Fund Raising Sources and Ideas
| Here are a few suggestions for fundraising if someone you know could use some
help with the financial burden that comes with medical care of a loved one who is seriously ill. |
- Churches, clergy, elders and deacons
- Schools, classmates, teachers and parents
- Boy and Girls Scout; special events like bake sale, crafts sale, spaghetti
dinner, 50/50, etc.
- Collection jars and cans in stores and gas stations
- Work place or company - need a core team to organize a drive
- Golf/bowling leagues
- Downtown merchants - need a store to lead fund raisers such as raffles, popcorn
or hot dog sale, etc.
- Benefit auctions, raffles, concerts, cook-outs, etc.
- Jaycees, Lions Club, VFW or other community organizations
- State aids-check with government agencies
- Radio stations to announce fund raising events
- Newspaper articles with pictures to communicate the need, publicize events
and report progress
- Don't be shy but be genuine and honest. Make your needs known and have them
publicized all over.
- Open an account at a local bank for donations, and hire a lawyer to set up
a trust. Be above board, legal and proper.
- Think about how the trust fund should be dissolved after the need is over
or death occurs.
